What is IELTS?

Different Versions of the IELTS Exam
The IELTS test comes in two versions:

IELTS Exam Syllabus for Academic and General
Training Versions
The IELTS exam is divided into four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Although both versions are assessed in the same way, they differ in structure.
The Listening and Speaking sections are identical for both the Academic and General Training versions. However, there are notable differences in the Reading and Writing sections:
- Reading:
- General Training Version: Includes four short passages and one long passage.
- Academic Version: Comprises three long passages.
- Both versions have a total of 40 questions.
- Writing:
- General Training Version: Consists of a letter and a short essay.
- Academic Version: Involves a report and a short essay.
Both versions require candidates to complete two writing tasks.
Cancellation or Rescheduling Fees for the IELTS Exam
If you need to cancel or reschedule your IELTS exam, please note the following:
- More than Five Weeks Before the Test Date: You will receive a refund minus an administration fee.
- Within Five Weeks of the Test Date: You will be charged the full test fee, unless you provide a major medical reason.
- Medical Certificate Provided Within Five Days of the Test Date: You will receive a refund minus any applicable local administrative fees
