We submitted his Canada Study Visa application for a UG Diploma in Mechanical Technician program at Sheridan College.
Unfortunately, his initial Canada visa application was also refused, despite a well-prepared file.

Immediately after receiving the refusal, we submitted a reconsideration request through the IRCC webform, along with all necessary documentation.
Within a few days — his visa was approved!
Refusal Reason: IELTS Not Submitted?
The refusal letter mentioned that the English test result was missing, and therefore, the visa officer could not determine the applicant’s ability to handle the English course load.
However, this was not true — we had already included the IELTS score (overall 7 bands) as the first document in the application package, right along with the education credentials. Despite this, the visa was refused due to a technical oversight.
Instead of giving up, we immediately filed a reconsideration request, clearly explaining that the IELTS result was already submitted earlier and attaching it again for reference.

Many students and applicants don’t know this — but you can submit a reconsideration request through the IRCC webform if you strongly believe your file was refused unfairly or due to an officer’s error.
Here’s how we handled it:
Went to the IRCC webform page.
Selected “Add a document or ask about your application.”
Chose “I am the primary applicant.”
Entered all details (UCI, application number, passport info).
Uploaded the IELTS score report and added a short explanation.
That’s it! Within days, the reconsideration was accepted, and our client received his PPR (Passport Request) for visa stamping.
Why You Should Always Try Reconsideration

Even though the acceptance rate for reconsideration is usually around 1–5%, it is still worth trying — especially if your file was strong and refused for an unreasonable reason.

Current Canada Visa Scenario (2025 Update)

For 2025, the Canada study visa quota has been reduced from 3,00,000 to 1,50,000, which means refusals may increase and PAL (Provincial Attestation Letter) requirements may become stricter.
